The successful applicant will be an instructional leader who builds strong, respectful and productive relationships with all members of the school community. The key responsibilities of this position include:
- Provide high level of administrative support within the team and across the school with particular focus on record keeping and excursions
- Provide administrative assistance for excursion - this includes creating drafts of all excursion paperwork for teaching staff as part of workload reduction measures and proofing notes when required in a timely manner
- Entering excursion data in Sentral, processing and collating returned excursion notes. Management and archiving excursion files both electronic and physical, ordering and transferring of excursion files and keeping records up to date
- Provide general supervision and training of office staff to ensure the smooth running of the College Front Office, knowledge of administrative practices and procedures and/or office management
- Provide first aid as required, maintain sickbay supplies and ensure medication is managed and monitored appropriately
- Monitor, order and replenish consumables, equipment and resources.
- Provide general administrative support to staff, students, parents and carers
Eligibility/Other RequirementsMandatory: Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required. For further information on Working with Vulnerable People registration refer to - Apply for or renew a WWVP registration - Access Canberra Highly Desirable: Experience with School Administrative System (SAS) and managing excursions in a school environment Desirable: First Aid Certificate or a willingness to undertake appropriate training. Evacuation Warden or a willingness to undertake appropriate training
- Proven organisational skills with the ability to work effectively in busy situations, in a team environment or independently and the ability to plan, set priorities and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
- Ability to supervise staff, monitor work practices and workflow, develop local procedures and set priorities within a work area
- High level administrative skills including keyboard skills and the ability to operate a variety of computer programs, databases and other records management systems
- Well-developed interpersonal, oral and written communication and liaison and negotiation skills, ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with a range of stakeholders.
