Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Owner Driver – Removalist role. The Owner Driver – Removalist is responsible for safely operating their own vehicle to complete home and office relocations, handling, loading, transporting, and unloading furniture and goods with care. Day-to-day tasks include conducting pre-start vehicle checks, securing loads in line with safety requirements, and delivering items in good condition. The role also involves providing courteous customer service at pick-up and drop-off locations, completing basic paperwork or electronic job records, and liaising with the operations team to coordinate daily runs. The successful candidate will maintain their vehicle to a professional standard, comply with company policies and road transport regulations, and represent All Purpose Transport positively at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Australian driver’s licence (appropriate class for vehicle), a well-maintained suitable vehicle for removalist work, and a safe driving record.
- Demonstrated experience in furniture removals.
- Strong physical fitness and the ability to safely lift, carry, and manoeuvre heavy items and bulky furniture.
- Knowledge of load restraint, manual handling techniques, and basic vehicle safety checks.
- Effective time management
- Clear, professional communication skills and a customer-focused approach at homes and offices.
- Ability to complete delivery documentation, use basic mobile or in-cab technology, and follow job instructions accurately.
- Commitment to safety, compliance with road rules, and adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Australian work rights and the ability to work reliably on a full-time basis
