Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Building Certifier role located in Gold Coast, QLD. The Building Certifier will review and assess project documentation for compliance with relevant Building Codes, standards, and regulations across commercial and multi-residential projects. Day-to-day responsibilities include issuing building approvals, conducting site and compliance inspections, preparing BCA reports, and providing clear guidance to clients, designers, and builders. The Building Certifier will collaborate closely with the internal team and external stakeholders to ensure timely, high-quality, and customer-focused certification services.
The building certifier must have at least 5 years experience in class 2-9 projects. This role offers growth with the company and the potential of future management positions for the right candidate.
Qualifications
- Accredited qualifications in Building Surveying or Building Certification, with current or eligible registration/licensing as a Building Certifier in QLD (and or NSW)
- Strong knowledge of the National Construction Code (NCC), Building Code of Australia (BCA), relevant Australian Standards, fire safety requirements, and disability access provisions.
- Demonstrated experience assessing plans, issuing building approvals, and conducting inspections for commercial and multi-residential projects.
- Competence in preparing clear technical reports, compliance documentation, and written advice for clients, consultants, and authorities.
- Effective communication, stakeholder management, and customer service skills, with the ability to provide practical, solutions-focused guidance.
- High attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with relevant certification, documentation, and project management software; general computer literacy in MS Office or similar tools.
- Current driver’s license and willingness to travel to sites accross Qld and NSW Gold Coast region and, as needed, across QLD and NSW.
