About the Opportunity

We are seeking experienced ICT Delivery Managers to support a major Federal Government department in the delivery and ongoing management of a diverse portfolio of digital and ICT initiatives.

These roles will operate across a range of ICT environments and will support both business-as-usual operations and priority technology programs. Delivery Managers will work closely with technical teams, business stakeholders, vendors, project sponsors and operational leads to plan, coordinate and drive delivery from inception through to implementation and transition into business-as-usual operations.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Delivery Managers with a strong background in complex government or enterprise ICT environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate ICT delivery activities, ensuring work is effectively planned, prioritised and progressed in line with business priorities
• Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary technical and business delivery teams
• Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, risks, issues, dependencies and resource requirements
• Deliver ICT programs and initiatives within agreed scope, schedule, budget and quality requirements
• Work across Agile, waterfall and hybrid delivery environments
• Coordinate operational planning, demand management and resources across technical and business areas
• Maintain clear reporting on delivery status, milestones, risks, issues and dependencies
• Build productive relationships with project sponsors, technical teams, business stakeholders and external vendors
• Support project handover, operational readiness, sustainment and transition into business-as-usual operations
• Identify opportunities to improve delivery processes, remove blockers and strengthen ways of working
• Support governance forums, reporting requirements and effective decision-making

Skills & Experience Required

• Minimum 3–5 years' experience delivering and managing ICT functions, projects or programs within government and/or large enterprise environments
• Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary delivery teams using Agile, waterfall and hybrid delivery approaches
• Strong experience managing scope, schedule, budget, risks, issues and dependencies
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at multiple organisational levels
• Demonstrated leadership capability, including mentoring, coaching and motivating technical and non-technical teams
• Experience with project delivery, planning and reporting tools
• Strong understanding of ICT systems, technology delivery and how multidisciplinary technical teams work together
• Experience working with vendors and delivery partners to manage progress and resolve delivery issues
• Experience supporting organisational or technology change and helping stakeholders adopt new processes, systems or ways of working

Highly Desirable

• Previous Australian Government ICT delivery experience
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Project Management, Information Technology or a related discipline
• Project management qualifications or accreditation such as PRINCE2, PMP, MSP, PMBOK or Agile
• Scrum Master certification (CSM or equivalent)
• Change management qualifications such as Prosci or APMG
• Experience delivering Agile projects within PRINCE2 or equivalent governance frameworks
• Experience using Azure DevOps, Microsoft Teams and/or Microsoft Project
• Experience driving continuous improvement across ICT delivery processes and ways of working
