The Role

Our team has an opportunity for an experienced Design Manager to play a key leadership role in delivering integrated industrial design solutions across complex food and dairy projects.

This role will suit someone who thrives in a technically demanding and strategically focused environment - from early concept development and design strategy through to detailed coordination and execution - and who takes pride in delivering practical, efficient, and constructible outcomes.

You will lead multidisciplinary teams and work closely with engineers, specialists, and clients to ensure seamless integration across all design disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate internal and external design teams across engineering and architectural disciplines.
• Develop and maintain an integrated design strategy aligned with project objectives.
• Ensure cohesive integration of geotechnical, civil, architectural, structural, process, and mechanical designs.
• Identify and proactively resolve interface and constructability risks early in the design process.
• Apply strong knowledge of industrial plant layouts, utilities, hygienic design, and process flow.
• Ensure compliance with food and dairy industry requirements, including hygiene zoning, cleanability, and operational functionality.
• Oversee design documentation to ensure delivery to professional and quality standards.
• Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships.

About You

You will demonstrate strong leadership capability, technical depth, and a proactive approach to problem-solving, with the ability to visualise and integrate facility-wide systems.

• Qualification in Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years’ experience in industrial design environments.
• Demonstrated experience delivering complex industrial or food processing facilities.
• Proven multi-disciplinary coordination experience.
• Strong understanding of hygienic and operational design principles within industrial environments (food sector experience highly regarded).
• Sound knowledge of CAD and 3D modelling and review tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to drive accountability and performance within design teams.
