Salary: $73,000– $76,000

Barossa beans and cream is a well-established gelataria and café based in the picturesque town of Tanunda in the Barossa Valley. We are committed to delivering high-quality food with a strong focus on excellent customer service. Due to business growth, we are seeking an experienced retail manager to oversee day-to-day operations.

Role overview

The retail manager will be responsible for working alongside the owners managing the overall operations of the café including staff performance and training, customer satisfaction and production as well as stock levels and ordering.

Key responsibilities

·        Plan, organise, and control the day-to-day operations of the cafe

·        Manage staff recruitment, training, rostering, and performance management

·        Oversee customer service standards and resolve customer complaints

·        Monitor stock levels, order supplies, and control manage wastage

·        Ensure food safety standards are upheld and company policies met.

·        Implement sales strategies and promotional activities to maximise revenue

·        Work alongside the owners in monitoring budgets and sales targets.

·        Build relationships with suppliers and liaise owners as required.

Skills and experience required·        Minimum 2 years’ relevant experience as a store manager, or equivalent in a similar style environment

·        Strong leadership and staff management skills

·        Sound knowledge of food safety requirements

·        Ability to manage budgets, rosters, and stock efficiently

·        Excellent communication and customer service skills

·        Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays

Qualifications

Relevant qualification in business, management, or hospitality (preferred but not essential with sufficient experience)
