Job Description

Company
A national provider of professional-grade power-generation solutions, delivering both equipment sales and rental services across Australia. The business specialises in diesel generator sets (small portable units through to large multi-megawatt systems), mobile lighting towers, load banks and temporary-power distribution equipment.
Their solutions support customers who operate in environments where uninterrupted power is essential. Key industry sectors include commercial and civil construction, mining and resources, shutdown and maintenance services, industrial manufacturing, oil & gas, utilities, facilities management, electrical and mechanical contracting, events and emergency/government services.
Opportunity
This is a senior-level commercial role focused on managing major accounts across Western Australia while actively driving new business growth in industries reliant on temporary and permanent power solutions. The WA Key Account Manager will champion the sale and rental of diesel generators, lighting towers, load banks and power-distribution systems, supporting customer projects from early scoping through to delivery and after-sales service.
Reporting into the WA leadership team, you will split your time between the field and the company’s Northern Perth suburbs office (3–4 days per week), ensuring strong engagement with customers while maintaining visibility with internal operations and service teams.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage and expand a portfolio of key accounts across construction, civil infrastructure, mining, industrial facilities, utilities and government sectors
- Proactively identify new projects, shutdowns, tenders and short-term rental opportunities to build a healthy, forward-looking pipeline
- Promote and articulate the value of diesel generators, lighting towers and temporary-power solutions to a broad range of technical and commercial stakeholders
- Build strong relationships with project managers, construction managers, site supervisors, procurement teams, contract administrators, shutdown coordinators, maintenance managers, HSE personnel, electrical contractors, mechanical contractors, asset managers, facilities managers and operations leaders
- Conduct site visits to understand power requirements, assess conditions and recommend the most suitable equipment configuration
- Prepare detailed quotations, rental packages, project proposals and end-to-end power-generation solutions tailored to each customer’s environment and risk profile
- Liaise closely with internal operations, logistics and technical service teams to ensure correct equipment selection, timely delivery, commissioning support and high service standards
- Maintain accurate forecasting, CRM updates, pipeline reporting and project tracking to support internal planning and customer expectations
Benefits ($125,000 – $140,000 base + Car Allowance + Super + Bonus)
- Competitive salary reflective of industry experience and technical capability
- Car allowance to support frequent travel across metropolitan and regional WA
- Annual performance bonus linked to revenue growth, account retention and customer engagement outcomes
- Support from an established national technical, engineering and service team
- Access to a large and modern fleet of generators and lighting towers, enabling strong product confidence in the field
- A stable business with strong brand recognition, operational depth and long-term customer relationships
- Exposure to major WA construction, mining and infrastructure projects with substantial repeat-business potential
Candidate
- Experience in power generation, industrial equipment sales, capital equipment, or hire-industry key account management, ideally within construction, civil, mining, resources or heavy industry
- Proven success selling to project managers, engineering teams, procurement leads, operations managers, shutdown planners, maintenance managers, electrical/mechanical contractors, facilities managers and site-based stakeholders
- Comfortable managing long-cycle capex sales as well as fast-turnaround rental requirements
- Strong technical aptitude for understanding power-generation equipment, sizing requirements, load considerations and site constraints
- Able to work autonomously in the field while maintaining structured communication with internal teams
- Highly organised, commercially minded and proactive in identifying new opportunities and expanding existing accounts
- Effective communicator capable of building rapport with stakeholders at all levels—site supervisors through to senior management
- Motivated, confident and driven to build meaningful, long-term customer relationships that translate into sustained revenue growth
