LET’S EXPLORE THE JOB Join our Infrastructure Assets Strategy team and support the planning and development of transport infrastructure projects from concept through to business case and planning phase. Working closely with our Senior Transport Planning and Program Lead, you will undertake project investigations, prepares business cases, coordinate stakeholder consultation and support the delivery of minor capital works programs including traffic facilities, footpaths and bus stop infrastructure. You will assist in developing well-scoped, strategically aligned projects that support Council’s transport objectives, while ensuring projects are safe, accessible, maintainable and deliver positive outcomes for the community. Your key focus areas are;

  • Undertake the planning and development of transport infrastructure projects from concept through to business case preparation and plan phase, in line with Council's project management framework and capital works processes. This includes assisting with cost estimates, schedules and risk assessments.
  • Undertake investigations and site assessments to inform project scoping, feasibility, and design development for capital works projects, including traffic facilities, footpaths, and bus stop infrastructure.
  • Identify, develop, and maintain procedures and risk assessments and assist in the development of management systems associated with asset and project management.
  • Prepare draft procurement documentation such as quotations and tender briefs and assist in the engagement and coordination of consultants and contractors.
  • Liaise with stakeholders in the planning and development of transport projects, including internal departments, service authorities, government agencies, businesses, and the public, and provide technical solutions to other Council staff.

You value safety, accessibility and long-term asset performance, and take pride in contributing to projects that deliver meaningful benefits for the community. You Bring

  • Certificate IV or equivalent experience and qualifications, in a relevant discipline such as Civil or Structural Engineering, Project Management, or Civil Construction.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting the delivery of infrastructure projects, including planning, investigations, and stakeholder consultation.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines, with experience in project coordination, scheduling, and cost estimation.
  • Understanding of capital works budgeting and cost control, including monitoring project expenditure and forecasting. Sound knowledge of asset management principles and practices, including asset lifecycle costs.
  • Highly developed oral and written communication skills and demonstrated experience liaising with relevant stakeholders and working effectively in a team environment.
