Due to continued growth, Brave Minds Social Services is seeking experienced and passionate Mental Health Support Workers to join our Community Access Team. We’re looking for skilled professionals who are committed to empowering individuals living with complex mental health challenges to live meaningful, independent lives.
Who We Are
Brave Minds Social Services is a leading, NDIS-registered provider specialising in mental health support across the Gold Coast. We work with people experiencing severe and persistent psychosocial disabilities, helping them build independence, achieve their goals, and enhance their quality of life through person-centred, strengths-based support.
What You'll Do
As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will work alongside participants to:
- Build trusting, professional relationships
- Support daily living and self-care skills
- Encourage independence and community participation
- Assist in achieving NDIS goals
- Provide emotional and practical support
- Collaborate with families, clinicians, and support teams
- Maintain accurate, timely case notes
- Promote health, wellbeing, and personal empowerment
- Assist with medication and access to essential services
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking applicants who are experienced, compassionate, and ready to make a real impact. You must have:
- A deep understanding of mental health challenges and recovery principles
- Demonstrated experience supporting people with psychosocial disability
- A person-centred, strengths-based, and trauma-informed approach
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience with NDIS participants and an understanding of their goals and plans
Essential Criteria
- Relevant qualifications in Mental Health, Social Work, Human Services, Youth Work, or similar, or relevant experience working alongside people with severe, persistent psychosocial disability (minimum of 5 years)
- Current Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
- Current Yellow Card (NDIS Worker Screening Check)
- Current First Aid and CPR Certification
- Current Driver’s License and Comprehensive Car Insurance
- Knowledge of mental health systems, legislation, and community services
