Senior Product Developer & Production Manager

THE ROLE 

This is a senior, hands-on role responsible for owning the end-to-end product development and production lifecycle at COMMAS.

Working closely with the Creative Director and the Senior Designer, you will translate design vision into commercially viable product, while ensuring collections are delivered on time, to margin, and to the highest quality standards, into our global warehouse network.

You will take full ownership across development, supplier management, costing, and production execution, acting as the central driver between design, suppliers, and internal teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Product Development

• Own end-to-end development from concept through to SMS and bulk
• Translate creative direction into technically sound, production-ready garments
• Lead fittings, grading, and product refinement
• Develop fabrics, trims, finishes and techniques aligned to brand direction
• Ensure all products meet aesthetic, quality and commercial expectations

Production Ownership

• Own the full production lifecycle from SMS to final delivery
• Manage offshore suppliers, factories and mills directly
• Oversee timelines and critical path to ensure on-time delivery
• Manage bulk production, purchase orders and shipment coordination
• Troubleshoot and resolve any production, quality or delivery issues
• Responsible for shipping and logistics finished goods into warehouses
• Ensuring logistics and freight costs sit within budgets, including fluctuating duties and taxes, consistently looking for ways to streamline 

Costing & Margin Management

• Own product costing from development stage onwards
• Negotiate pricing with suppliers to meet margin targets
• Drive cost efficiencies across fabrics, trims and construction
• Work closely with leadership to ensure commercial viability of collections

Supplier & Sourcing Strategy

• Build and manage strong relationships with global suppliers
• Identify and onboard new factories and mills where needed
• Continuously evaluate supplier performance and capabilities
• Ensure ethical, sustainable and compliant production practices

Operational & Cross-Functional Leadership

• Act as the key link between Design, Production and Commercial teams
• Drive clear communication across all stakeholders
• Improve systems, processes and ways of working across product lifecycle
• Support overall business efficiency and scalability

EXPERIENCE & PROFILE

• 5+ years experience in product development and production within fashion
• Strong technical knowledge of garment construction and manufacturing
• Proven experience managing offshore production and suppliers
• Experience across global logistics and distribution 
• Highly organised with strong ownership and accountability
• Commercially minded with strong understanding of costing and margins
• Confident working closely with creative teams
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Experience working in a fast-paced or founder-led business preferred
