Commercial Manager

ConsultANZ is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join an international civil contractor delivering major infrastructure projects across Australia. Based in Melbourne, you will oversee the commercial and contractual performance of key projects, ensuring strong financial control and compliance.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide commercial and contractual support to senior management.
• Manage Commercial Management Plans, registers, and project documentation.
• Lead client contract negotiations and manage contractual obligations.
• Oversee subcontractor procurement, agreements, and commercial administration.
• Manage claims, variations, budgets, and progress reporting.
• Ensure compliance with head contract terms and Australian contract standards.
• Lead procurement processes and final account closeouts.

Requirements:

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Law, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience managing large ITC contracts with civil contractors.
• Legal exposure — ideally construction law
• Strong knowledge of D&C, PPP, and Australian Standard contracts.
• Experience in risk analysis, claims management, subcontractor management, and commercial reporting.
• Proven leadership and stakeholder management skills.
