Delve Innovation is seeking a Compliance Support Officer to join our professional services firm specialising in R&D tax advice. This is an excellent opportunity for an entry-level or junior professional keen to develop skills in knowledge management and project management. This role, at the intersection of knowledge management, legal compliance, and client support, involves the meticulous collection, analysis and indexing of document that support the R&D programs undertaken by leading Australian companies.

Job Tasks and Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Partners, the Compliance Support Officer plays a pivotal role in ensuring Australian companies comply with R&D tax legislation and regulatory requirements, as well as ensuring internal regulatory compliance. Primary responsibilities will include:
- Manage and monitor the flow of information requests to numerous clients, maintaining accurate records of submissions, pending items, precisely logging responses, identifying outstanding documentation, and meticulously recording follow-up efforts to ensure no details are overlooked and all critical data is collected.
- Champion reviewing, compiling, accessing, and archiving documentation with precision and care.
- Review and interpret client-provided documentation to understand its content, context, and relevance, translating it into structured evidence, using tables and summaries to identify what each item supports, how it meets eligibility criteria, and the R&D activities it applies to.
- Ensure timely distribution of control documents to internal and external stakeholders, maintaining momentum across projects and engagements.
- Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders, ensuring seamless documentation flow and timely access to critical information.
- Own and evolve our central Document Management System — ensuring all internal and external documentation is organised, indexed, and compliant with legislative and regulatory standards.
- Engage confidently with key internal and external stakeholders — including technical staff, project managers, and scientific researchers to obtain, clarify, and validate documentation, using emotional intelligence, persistence and persuasion.
- Design and refine document control protocols, including versioning, authorisation workflows, and controlled registers that support audit-readiness and operational clarity.
- Build smarter systems, continuously improving filing structures using metadata, naming conventions, automation, AI, etc., to enhance efficiency and reduce risk.
Core Requirements
- Cert 4 or higher in Business OR Project Management, Paralegal Services, or a related field.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar role, ideally within a professional service, advisory, or compliance-focused environment.
- Adept at tracking complex information flows, identifying gaps, and implementing systematic follow-up procedures to ensure all client documentation is obtained and nothing is missed.
- Proven ability to maintaining meticulous records of responses, outstanding items, and follow-up activities to ensure comprehensive data collection.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in reviewing, compiling, and archiving documentation.
- High emotional intelligence (EQ) — able to read the room, raise documentation issues diplomatically, and build rapport with technical, financial and advisory stakeholders.
- Familiarity with managing or supporting a Document Management System (DMS), including indexing, version control, and metadata tagging.
- A passion for accuracy, a fixation on comprehensive task completion and a drive to produce work of the highest standard and quality (demonstrated via the delivery of tasks completely and flawlessly every time).
