The Senior Building Quality Officer (Education) is responsible for maintaining, updating and amending the Primary School Brief and Secondary School Planning Guide in liaison with the Department of Education (the Brief owners). The Senior Building Quality Officer (Education) undertakes building design and documentation reviews, research and development of technical guidelines, manuals, templates and project briefs in addition to post occupancy evaluations and technical building advice. This position is responsible for project advice and assists project teams of in-house and private sector professionals to plan, deliver and maintain education buildings for Government.
About You:
In this role, you will work collaboratively to set future directions for the development of Western Australian State Schools. Our ideal candidate will be detail oriented and technically minded, with knowledge and experience in the design and delivery of Education buildings. You will have strong communication skills, and value working collaboratively with the team, other parts of Housing and Works, external agencies, and consultants.
The position operates in Personal Leadership context. This means that you are required to demonstrate personal accountability for delivering excellence and support your team and agency in delivering strategic goals. You will be expected to build and nurture relationships and be willing to seek feedback and learn.

Currently there is one (1) full-time fixed-term appointment for twelve (12) months from December 2025, available for filling, with the possibility of further extension(s) and/or permanency. Whilst this selection process will initially be used to appoint to this advertised vacancy, it may also be used to appoint to similar positions that may arise in the Agency within the next twenty four (24) months on a full-time, part-time, permanent or fixed-term basis with the possibility of further extension(s) and/or permanency.
