Employment Type:  

Appointment to the role is on a permanent flexible basis (up to 73.5 hours per fortnight).

Salary: $137,105.00 to $153,072.00 per annum plus superannuation 

Position Objective: Provide high level professional advice to the Director Asset Management in the strategic management of State Road network assets, particularly in the specialist technical area of pavement asset management, to facilitate the effective delivery of programs and projects in accordance with Government and Agency policies and objectives.

Effectively manage the Road Assets Team to deliver specialist asset management of roads on the State road network, including the management of landslip and rockfall.

Duties:        

  • Provide high level professional advice and management of the development of road asset management plans, strategies and policies for the State Road network to align with organisational strategic plans and guidelines.
  • Scope forward programs for the maintenance, rehabilitation and renewal of roads, and provide overview through the development and delivery phases.
  • Manage professional consultants and contractors to deliver a range of specific projects and advice.
  • Manage pavement design analysis tasks and reviews, including assessment of heavy vehicle load movements. 

Position RequirementsEssential

Evidence of the following must be provided prior to appointment to this role:

  • Satisfactory completion of a relevant 4-year (minimum) university degree in engineering that is accredited by Engineers Australia; or satisfactory completion of academic qualifications in Engineering that are recognised by Engineers Australia as being an equivalent qualification
  • Current driver licence

The person must continue to satisfy the above essential requirements/qualifications throughout their employment in this role.

Desirable 

  •  Post graduate qualifications in a relevant discipline.
  •  Understanding of State Government Road asset management responsibilities.
