An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Contracts Administrator to join a well-established construction contractor delivering Education and Aged Care projects across Newcastle and the wider NSW region managing 3 projects across the Newcastle region. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership, develop your commercial expertise, and contribute to a business known for quality delivery, strong client relationships, and long-term project pipelines. You will be based from the companies office in Newcastle. Role
- Working closely with the Project Manager, Construction Manager, Site Teams, and Commercial leadership to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Managing all contractual and commercial aspects of projects from procurement through to final accounts.
- Preparing, assessing, and managing subcontractor scopes, tender packages, contract negotiations, and award recommendations.
- Administering progress claims, variations, extensions of time, and cost reporting in line with project budgets and company procedures.
- Monitoring project costs, forecasting, and cash flow, ensuring accurate monthly reporting.
- Maintaining strong relationships with consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure successful outcomes.
- Supporting compliance with company systems, quality standards, and WHS requirements across all projects.
Requirements:
- 3+ years’ experience in a Contracts Administrator role within the construction industry.
- Proven experience working on Education, Aged Care, or similar building projects.
- Strong understanding of Australian construction contracts and procurement processes.
- Demonstrated ability to manage subcontractors, consultants, and multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with strong commercial acumen and attention to detail.
