Senior Project Engineer

About The Position:

Located in our Head Office in Brisbane, our Project Engineers are located within our Product Development team and will have responsibility for project managing new products from conception to production.

The projects will include costing & development, material selection, design and specification, process analysis, testing and PPAP documentation. 

Daily you will be activity working closely with your fellow Engineering team, CAD designers, toolmakers, production, sales, and QA. The role will also see you liaising directly with our customer & supply base globally. 

It would be advantageous if you could demonstrate the following:

• Working within the Automotive OEM or After Market sector for design of plastic and metal components;
• Knowledge in automotive accessory development processes;
• Knowledge and understanding of CAD & Engineering drawings;
• Exposure to managing new products from conception to production;
• Knowledge of Team Center would be an advantage; and
• Knowledge of Tool design & GD&T would be an advantage.

About you:

• Tertiary qualified Project Engineer / Mechanical Engineer; 
• With at least 5 years’ experience in new product design and development in the manufacturing industry; 
• Experience of Design for manufacture of plastic, thermoforming and/or injection moulding would be a great advantage; 
• Knowledge of metal product manufacturing techniques such as fabrication, pressing, casting and forging would be a great advantage; and
• Understanding the requirements of PPAP and APQP.
