Our Opportunity Work Location: Fortescue’s Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people. Roster: Monday to Friday (Part time 2 days per week) We are looking for a Heritage Officer to join our team on a part-time basis (2 days per week) for a 9-month contract. This role offers the opportunity to apply your expertise in a flexible working arrangement while supporting heritage approvals, compliance, stakeholder engagement, and project delivery across a range of operational and development activities. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced professional seeking a flexible role where they can make a meaningful contribution to heritage management, work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders, and help deliver positive outcomes within a dynamic operational environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Authorise on-site works in accordance with Fortescue's management systems, ensuring compliance with the Western Australian Aboriginal Heritage Act 1972, land access agreements, and heritage commitments.
  • Support heritage approval obligations, compliance monitoring, and reporting.
  • Assist in the preparation of Heritage Survey Scopes in collaboration with internal project teams and external stakeholders.
  • Review and assess heritage survey deliverables, including Preliminary Advice, spatial data, Final Reports, and management recommendations.
  • Conduct GIS heritage data analysis, auditing, and quality assurance.
  • Provide support across heritage planning and project delivery as required.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support operational and development objectives.
  • Contribute to a positive, collaborative team culture.
  • Identify and escalate heritage-related issues or delays in a timely manner.

Qualifications And Experience

  • Experience in management, environmental approvals, land access, or a related discipline.
  • An understanding of heritage or relevent processes.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience reviewing technical reports and working with GIS data (desirable).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • A proactive, collaborative approach and a commitment to continuous improvement.
