About the role

We're looking for an OT with a Neuro passion to join our team at Geelong Neuro Centre.

Learn, Grow and Thrive with Us

  • Are you a progressive Occupational Therapist passionate about Neuro rehabilitation?
  • Would you love the security of a fortnightly salary, paid annual leave, structured mentoring and a four-weekly rewards program recognising your high level client care?
  • Do you want to work in a purpose-built neurological clinic with world-class equipment, a fun and supportive multidisciplinary team and access to the latest assistive technologies?
  • Would you like to grow your skills through 1:1 structured mentoring with a senior OT, plus discipline specific PD and whole team professional development.

This role is ideal for an OT in the early stages of their career who’s keen to specialise in neuro. Whether you’re a new grad or more experienced, we’d love to hear from you, and we’ll tailor your mentoring to where you’re at.

The Clinical Work

As an Occupational Therapist at Geelong Neuro Centre, you’ll join a collaborative multidisciplinary team of Physiotherapists, Exercise Physiologists, Speech Pathologists, and Podiatrists. You’ll provide therapy in our purpose-built clinic, clients’ homes, and the community.

You’ll work with a wide range of neurological conditions, including:

  • Stroke
  • Spinal cord injury
  • Brain injury
  • Cerebral palsy
  • Parkinson’s disease
  • Multiple sclerosis

We’re proud of our client-centred, evidence-based, and progressive approach. Our OT services include, but are not limited to:

  • Upper limb therapy: Splinting, casting, functional retraining, spasticity management, electrical stimulation, Saebo equipment, sensory retraining (SENSe)
  • Assistive technology and complex equipment prescription
  • Functional retraining and cognitive therapy
  • Home and vehicle modifications
  • FCA, SDA and SIL assessments
  • Seating and positioning using our X-Sensor pressure mapping system

You will work across both our clinic and the community, depending on where it’s best to work towards your client’s goals. We have a dedicated team room for the non-client part of your day, and an intake coordinator who handles new referrals and gets clients ready for their first appointment, so you can spend your time on therapy.

Getting better at what you do

Everyone here sets a 12-month and a 3-year personal and professional goals, and we review it regularly to see how you are going in achieving these goals. Alongside that you'll get:

  • 1:1 mentoring and group OT mentoring
  • Opportunities for shadowing and joint sessions
  • A weekly early career program if you're in your first couple of years
  • In-house and external PD, plus a PD allowance
  • A chance to specialise in areas like upper limb, assistive technology, or seating and positioning

We'll also teach you the things uni didn't: how funding works, writing reports, building relationships with referrers, and managing your own diary. Many of our team came from public health or moved here from interstate, so we know what that switch is like.

Our Technology

We have equipment others dream of, shared across the whole team, and we'll train you on all of it. You don't need to have used any of it before.

  • Tyromotion MYRO and DIEGO robotic systems
  • Saebo upper limb equipment
  • Xcite2 and RT300 FES Bike
  • Robotic gait training and LiteGait
  • Vald ForcePlate and ForceFrame
  • X-Sensor pressure mapping
  • Splinting and casting
  • A seating and positioning clinic

How you're rewarded

Not by billing alone. We use Clinical Excellence Indicators, which measure your client care, including your cancellation rate, rebooking rate and utilisation, along with your clinical reasoning and how you work with the team.

We have a 4-weekly rewards program. The expectations are clear, and the majority of our clinicians meet and exceed them within normal working hours and earn reward payments averaging $2,000 each reward block.

Your week

38 hours, Monday to Friday. No weekends. Documentation time and PD time are built into your roster, not squeezed in around it. Once you've settled in and built your caseload, we're happy to talk about flexible schedules like a 9-day fortnight or a 4-day week.

Where it can lead

Clinical Specialist, Stream Leader, Mentor or Supervisor, Leadership, or even unlock Ownership pathwyas. You pick the direction and we help you get there.
