ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our finance team. In this role, you will play a key part in delivering accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance, and supporting informed business decision-making. You’ll collaborate with internal stakeholders and external advisors to drive high-quality financial outcomes across the organisation.
Responsibilities will include:
- Complete month-end adjustments including general journals, accruals, prepayments, depreciation, leases, and provisions.
- Maintain and reconcile the fixed asset register.
- Prepare monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations.
- Manage capitalised exploration and mining development schedules.
- Prepare ABS surveys and assist with statutory reporting requirements.
- Support preparation of monthly Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Consolidated Activity Statements (CAS).
- Assist with annual FBT return and collation of information for R&D and tax returns in liaison with external tax agents.
- Contribute to audit preparation and compliance activities.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting for Australian operations.
- Participate in ad-hoc projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Liaise with group finance teams to ensure NetSuite updates are tested prior to deployment.
What you will need:
- Degree-qualified in Accounting.
- CA/CPA qualification (or working towards) preferred.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and month-end processes.
- Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite experience advantageous).
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and manage competing priorities.
