Senior Bookkeeper

About the Role This is a senior, end-to-end finance position within a well-established Australian manufacturer, recognised for quality and consistency in their sector. The business has a stable, professional culture and a genuine track record of retaining good people. You will take full ownership of payroll and bookkeeping for the business, working directly with the owner and senior executive team, with visibility across operations, ERP systems and quality management processes that goes well beyond a typical bookkeeping brief. This is a "5 days in office" role based on the Southside and suited to someone who wants a role with real substance and standing within the business. What You'll Be Doing

• Working closely with the owner and senior executive team across operations and administration
• Month-end reconciliations and reporting
• Preparation and lodgement of BAS, PAYG administration and compliance
• Liaising with external accountants as required
• Accounts payable and Accounts Receivable Support
• Banking and daily reconciliations
• End-to-end payroll processing, including leave, superannuation and payroll records
• Single Touch Payroll (STP) reporting and payroll reconciliations
• Ensuring payroll compliance with relevant legislation and awards
• Involvement in ISO Quality Management System processes
• Supporting customer service and order processing during peak periods

What We're Looking For

• Solid, demonstrated experience as a Senior Bookkeeper, Payroll Officer or similar, ideally gained across several years in a comparable business
• End-to-end payroll experience, managed independently and with confidence
• A strong working knowledge of BAS, PAYG and core bookkeeping principles
• The judgement and maturity to work directly with ownership and senior leadership
• Prior exposure to ISO Quality Management Systems and/or ERP platforms is highly regarded
• A steady, self-sufficient approach, with the flexibility to support other areas of the business when needed
• Experience with ERP/accounting platforms
