Your New Role
Working as a corporate secretary within this institution, this role requires management of a portfolio of 10 different Australian subsidiaries. Providing company secretariat and corporate governance support this candidate will need experience working in financial services previously and providing this support for boards that meet quarterly or half-yearly.
This candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all compliance obligations are met, agendas and minutes are completed in a timely manner. Working with high level internal stakeholders, this candidate is required to directors, alongside other departments to ensure that all requirements are met across the organisation.
Additionally, this candidate also has to have knowledge of the different corporate governance concepts, policies, tools and templates. Having to work across the organisation, this role requires strong time management, organisational skills and attention to detail to ensure that all subsidiaries require the correct support.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Strong attention to detail, strong written and oral communication and ability to navigate complexity and through the organisation’s structure, managing relationships, influencing and anticipating needs.
- Technical skills include understanding and operating corporate governance accountabilities, concepts, policies, tools and templates, most of which are based on legal and regulatory requirements.
- Ability to understand these requirements and practically apply these at a process level is essential.
- Ability to quickly understand complex topics and issues is also essential to be able to provide guidance on Board engagement and draft accurate minutes.
- Strong work discipline and ethics, including ability to keep information strictly confidential.
- Self-motivation and ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks and prioritise deadlines.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, while knowing when to escalate matters to People Leader.
- Continuous improvement mindset.
- Deep and practical understanding of good governance practices having previously worked in a Legal, Governance or Risk department of a major corporation.
- Knowledge of Corporations legislation and other corporate governance requirements, and how they impact a company’s day to day administration and governance).

In return you will receive a competitive hourly rate of $650 - $680 daily rate + super for a temporary 12 month contract in a hybrid working based in the CBD.
