Job Description

Posted on: August 13, 2026

Luxury Escapes is one of the world's fastest growing travel businesses, reaching up to 8 million subscribers each month with exclusive limited time offers at 'insider' prices.

We are a collective of forward-thinking people, driven to challenge the travel industry and ourselves to bring ever better travel experiences to our customer community.

Awarded as one of the 'Best Places to Work’ by the AFR; employee experience is king here, with lunches provided 5 days a week, an onsite gym with premium change facilities, weekly events, the opportunity to experience the travel we offer and significant professional development opportunities - we go above and beyond to make every workday something to look forward to!

We’re looking for a Finance Manager to join our Melbourne-based Finance team on a 12-month parental leave cover.

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you’ll lead the financial accounting team through an important period of change. You’ll own the Group’s month-end close and management reporting, provide technical accounting guidance, and play a key role in the ERP transition and the improvements that follow.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the end-to-end month-end close process for the Group, coordinating the team and delivering accurate monthly management accounts with clear variance analysis.
  • Oversee Group balance sheet reconciliations, business unit reporting and cost centre reporting, ensuring issues are identified and resolved promptly.
  • Act as the escalation point for technical accounting matters and manage the relationship with external auditors through the statutory audit process.
  • Lead, coach and develop a financial accounting team of five, including allocating workloads, setting priorities and conducting bi-annual performance reviews.
  • Guide the team through the ERP transition, supporting go-live in the first half of FY27 and the stabilisation period that follows.
  • Partner with the Financial Controller, CFO and IT to improve the accuracy, efficiency and usefulness of financial reporting and accounting processes.
  • Support the wider Finance team, including Accounts Payable, and contribute to ad hoc projects as required.

What we are looking for:

  • CA or CPA qualified, with commercial post-qualification experience in financial accounting or finance management.
  • Experience managing multi-entity, multi-currency month-end close processes, including consolidation, with sound knowledge of foreign exchange and Group reporting.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and the judgement to resolve complex issues, identify risk and escalate appropriately.
  • Experience working in a mid-size ERP environment. Oracle NetSuite experience is advantageous, but not essential.
  • Proven people leadership experience, with the confidence to lead and develop a team through a period of change. ERP or finance systems transformation experience will be highly regarded.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with budget owners, business leaders and the executive team.
  • A highly organised, analytical and practical approach, with the ability to manage competing deadlines without close supervision.

What's in it for you?

  • Competitive remuneration package
  • First class health and well-being program including on-site gym, annual vaccinations, yoga, meditation, and breakfast/lunch provided 5 days a week
  • Fun working environment: Friday afternoon onsite gatherings (wine included!) and monthly celebration & recognition programs
  • Discounted travel you and your friends and family, birthday leave and a whole lot more!

If you’re interested in the role but don't check every box, apply anyway, we’d love to hear from you!

We embrace diversity in our people and make hiring decisions based on your experiences and skills. We do not discriminate based on gender identity, religion, race, national origin, sexual orientation, age, marital status, or disability status. You'll find a collaborative, inclusive, and respectful workplace here at Luxury Escapes, and we are proud to celebrate who you are. Please let us know if you require any reasonable adjustments during the interview.

As a 2026 Circle Back Initiative employer, we're committed to responding to every applicant.
