Fantastic boutique local firm who have ambitious plans to grow over the coming years. We are seeking a highly experienced bookkeeper to be the lead of this function, drive client outcomes, and be a key part of this growing firms journey.
Having been operating for over 20 years, this practice has a well-developed client bookkeeping function across a diverse range of clients across all industries and sizes. You’ll be joining a business where people are valued, supported, and recognised for the contributions they make.
The Role:
You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of bookkeeping clients, handling all aspects of day-to-day financial operations, compliance, and reporting.
You’ll enjoy working across a variety of industries, with strong systems, processes and professional development program tailored to your learning needs.
Long term, this position has an outlook for leadership opportunities as the client base grows, there is ability to add members to your team, and lead them.
Direct Responsibilities:
- Set up and implement bookkeeping processes for new clients
- Liaise directly with clients and their accountants, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant reporting
- Manage accounts payable and receivable functions
- Process payroll, including superannuation, leave, and entitlements
- Complete bank, credit card, and general ledger reconciliations
- Prepare and lodge BAS, IAS, and GST reports
- Assist with month-end processes and management reporting
- Assist cash flow forecasting and budgeting
About You:
Having worked in another accounting firm or specialist bookkeeping business, you will possess the following skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and manage multiple client relationships
- Advanced proficiency in Xero
- Strong knowledge of payroll, BAS, IAS, GST, and relevant compliance requirements
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- A proactive, team-focused, and professional attitude
