About us: Ngutu College is an independent Kindy to Year 12 college based in Woodville North, South Australia. We are redesigning education, built on the belief that schooling should be genuinely equitable, culturally informed and authentically child-centred. Learning opportunities acknowledge and engage the individuality of all children and young people in an experiential environment in which Aboriginal knowledges are seamlessly integrated with the formal curriculum.
We are looking for an OSHC Director to join Ngutu College.
Role Description The OSHC Director is responsible for leading and managing the Out of School Hours Care service, ensuring a safe, engaging, and culturally responsive environment for children. This full-time, on-site role is located in Woodville North, South Australia. The Director is responsible for overseeing daily operations, including program planning, staffing, supervision, and compliance with relevant regulations and quality standards. The OSHC Director will design and implement activities that reflect the college’s focus vision and the My Time Our Place framework and/or the Early Years Learning Framework. Day-to-day tasks include coordinating schedules, maintaining enrolment and attendance records, managing budgets and resources, and communicating regularly with families, school staff, and external partners. The role also includes mentoring team members, supporting continuous improvement, and ensuring inclusive practices across the service.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in leading an Out of School Hours Care, childcare, or similar education and care services.
- Relevant qualification in Education, Early Childhood, School Aged Care, or ACECQA approved
- Strong skills in program planning and implementation, including designing engaging, age-appropriate activities that reflect cultural and artistic priorities.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulatory frameworks, and quality standards for education and care services, including child safety and wellbeing requirements.
- Proven ability to lead and support a diverse team, including staff supervision, coaching, and performance development.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with children, families, colleagues, and community partners.
- Commitment to culturally responsive practice and respect for Aboriginal cultures and communities, with experience in culturally informed education considered an advantage.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills, including record-keeping, rostering, budgeting, and resource management.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a school setting, contributing to whole-college initiatives and a supportive, inclusive culture.
