Bring your expertise to a team that values your skills, supports your growth, and trusts you to make meaningful change.Remuneration: $109,247 - $133,156 per annum (pro rata for part time) + super Employment Type: Temporary Full Time and Temporary Part Time (12-month contract) Position Classification: Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2, Clinical Psychologist, Counsellor Level 3, Occupational Therapist Level 3, Social Worker Level 3 Location: John Hunter Children's Hospital Hours Per Week: up to 38 Requisition ID: REQ605566 Applications Close: Thursday, 2nd October 2026 About The Role This position at the John Hunter Hospital operates on a weekly rotating roster and offers diverse clinical experience in the Emergency Department and Inpatient Units as part of the CAMHS Consultation Liaison Service. During business hours, the focus is on Child and Adolescent Mental Health, while after hours, the role extends to both Child, Adolescent, and Adult Mental Health care. As a valued member of our collaborative team, you will receive direct supervision and guidance from the CAMHS Nurse Manager, alongside support from psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists, and child and adolescent psychiatrists. Furthermore, you will benefit from ongoing clinical supervision and have access to continuous training and professional development programs, all designed to support your growth and success in this role. About You You are a qualified Mental Health Clinician with solid experience in child and adolescent mental health, with additional experience in adult mental health considered an advantage. You possess strong clinical skills in conducting assessments and delivering brief interventions. Above all, you are committed to providing trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and client-centred care that respects the unique needs of each individual and their family. You will provide patient-centred care through mental health assessments, clinical formulations, brief interventions, and coordinated referrals for individuals across a broad age range. - Must hold a qualification in one of the following: Occupational Therapy, Clin Psychology/clin psych in training, Nursing, Social Work, Counsellor (Degree in Bachelor of Health Science Mental health, Djirruwang Program), which provides eligibility or membership of the relevant professional association general registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency or relevant post-registration qualifications and at least 3 years’ experience working in the clinical area of their specified post-graduate qualification, or such other qualifications or equivalent experience deemed appropriate by the service.
- Eligibility to drive in NSW and interstate and the willingness to travel in the course of employment.
