About the Role
Reporting into a senior finance leader, this position sits within a collaborative finance team and will initially involve a mix of hands-on financial accounting and management reporting. Over time, the role is designed to evolve into a more value-add, analytical position with strong exposure to budgeting, forecasting, performance analysis, and stakeholder engagement.
You will work closely with non-finance stakeholders, providing insights that support decision-making across programs and services, while developing your capability as a trusted finance partner.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with month-end close, including journals, reconciliations, and variance analysis
- Prepare and contribute to management reports, KPIs, and financial commentary
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling activities
- Analyse financial performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities
- Provide financial insights to stakeholders to support operational and strategic decisions
- Assist with compliance, audits, and internal control processes
- Contribute to finance process improvements and system enhancements
About You
- Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
- CA or CPA qualified, or currently studying towards accreditation
- 2–5 years’ experience in public practice or a commercial finance environment
- Strong Excel capability (including pivots, lookups, and data analysis)
- Naturally inquisitive, with a desire to understand the “why” behind the numbers
- Confident communicator with the ability to engage credibly with non-finance stakeholders
- Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working in a changing environment

Location & Working Style
The role is based in Geelong, with an expectation of regular office presence (typically 3–4 days per week), particularly during the initial learning phase. Local candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
