Are you the technical person your MSP brings into the room when a client needs to work out what comes next?
We're looking for a Senior Technical Consultant with broad MSP experience who can assess a client's entire IT environment, identify risks and opportunities, and turn those findings into practical, commercially sound solutions.
You might currently be a Senior Systems Engineer, Technical Consultant, Infrastructure Consultant, Project Engineer or hybrid Solutions Architect who's already involved in client discovery and solution design and wants to step into a dedicated pre-sales role.
This isn't a traditional enterprise architecture or vendor pre-sales position. We need someone who understands how SMB and mid-market IT environments actually fit together.

What You'll Be Doing
- Conduct onsite client discovery and assess current IT environments.
- Review infrastructure, cloud, M365, end-user computing, networking, cyber security, backup/DR and telephony.
- Identify risks, gaps and opportunities and develop future-state recommendations and roadmaps.
- Design Managed IT, Microsoft 365, Azure/cloud, networking and cyber solutions.
- Advise on Microsoft licensing and technology optimisation.
- Produce scopes, Bills of Materials and commercially aligned proposals.
- Present recommendations to business owners and non-technical stakeholders.
- Work with Sales throughout the opportunity and ensure clean handover to implementation.
What We're Looking For
We're particularly interested in candidates from MSPs or IT consulting businesses who have developed broad technical capability rather than specialising in one technology.
You'll ideally bring:
- Strong MSP, managed services or IT consulting experience.
- Hands-on experience assessing client IT environments.
- Broad knowledge across Microsoft 365, Azure/cloud, infrastructure, networking, cyber security and EUC.
- Understanding of Microsoft licensing.
- Experience with backup/DR; IP Voice or Teams Voice is advantageous.
- Experience producing solution designs, scopes, BOMs and proposals.
- Confidence presenting technical recommendations in clear business language.
- NSW driver's licence and full Australian working rights.
- Microsoft, Sophos, Fortinet or Cisco certifications and Essential Eight knowledge are highly regarded.
