A growing Australian renewable energy infrastructure business is looking for an experienced HR Business Partner to join its People & Culture team on a 12-month maternity leave contract.
Operating across large-scale renewable energy and infrastructure projects, this is a fast-moving, project-based environment where priorities can shift quickly and HR plays an important role in keeping the business one step ahead.
You'll partner closely with leaders across construction, engineering, projects and corporate functions, balancing strategic thinking with plenty of hands-on HR.

You're a confident HR Business Partner who knows how to build credibility with everyone from senior leaders and engineers through to construction managers and site-based teams.
You're pragmatic, commercially minded and comfortable working in an environment where not everything comes neatly packaged with a process and a bow 🎁.
You can coach and challenge leaders, hold your ground when needed, and still maintain strong relationships. Most importantly, you're happy switching between strategic workforce conversations and rolling up your sleeves to get things done.
🤸 Day to day
No two days will look exactly the same, but your responsibilities will include:
• Partner with project, construction and corporate leaders on day-to-day people matters
• Coach managers across performance, leadership and employee relations
• Support workforce planning and anticipate future project resourcing requirements
• Manage ER matters, investigations and performance issues
• Provide practical advice across Awards, policies and employment matters
• Support organisational change and evolving workforce requirements
• Partner on recruitment and mobilisation for project and site-based roles
• Support employees across the full employee lifecycle
• Contribute to engagement, performance and broader P&C initiatives
• Help embed and improve People & Culture processes and ways of working
• Visit project sites and participate in community engagement activities from time to time
🧰 What's in your toolkit?Must-haves:
• Strong generalist HR / HR Business Partner experience
• Construction, engineering, infrastructure, EPC or renewable energy experience
• Confidence partnering with and coaching leaders
• Hands-on employee relations and performance management experience
• Ability to work autonomously and use sound judgement
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
• Commercial, practical and solutions-focused approach
• Comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment with changing priorities
• Confidence working across both operational and corporate stakeholder groups
Nice-to-haves:
• Experience supporting project or site-based workforces
• Employment Hero experience
• Exposure to the Electrical and/or Construction Awards
• Experience supporting both blue- and white-collar workforces
