About the business

ShapeShift Technologies specializes in the design, manufacturing and delivery of complex shapes across the public art and architectural facade industries. We work in the latest composite materials and collaborate with the most innovative of designers. We have developed our own composite product specifically for the construction industry, called ShapeShell.

The role

Our Brisbane office is looking for a talented designer with exceptional CAD skills to join the team in a Lead Designer role. 

You need to be able to think outside the box and show initiative, to help create bespoke custom solutions for our clients (some of the largest Tier 1 builders in Australia). You will be a 3D CAD expert, with experience in 3D parametric modelling.

The role also requires you to self-manage and manage our clients directly. This includes preparing and managing your own schedules and deliverables, for the projects assigned to you. As a ‘Lead’ role in the Design Team, you will also be expected to delegate tasks and manage other CAD Designers within the team, to ensure your project deliverables are met.

This is a perfect opportunity for somebody who is keen to add project management responsibilities to their role, with a progression to a Design Manager position a possibility in the future.

Skills and experience

You will need to be motivated and driven by your own high personal standards. Your attention to detail, ability to plan and deliver your work to a program and willingness to contribute your own ideas to the team will be critical. 5 + years experience desired.

Essential skills include:

• Autodesk Inventor
• Rhino 3D
• 2D drafting and documentation

Desirable skills include:

• Grasshopper experience
• Experience in the Construction Industry/Architecture or Trade Experience
• Communication and presentation skills
• Project coordination experience
