This is an opportunity to join a global leader in mining equipment, technology and digital solutions at its Brisbane software product development centre of excellence.

Initially, you'll contribute to the latest release of the current-generation platform while also helping develop the organisation's next-generation mining technology platform built on a hybrid architecture using AWS, Microservices, Java 21, Angular 19.2 & etc.

Working alongside exceptionally talented software engineers across three continents, you'll help build software powering some of the world's largest mining operations.

You'll work on command and control of autonomous mining equipment and real-time optimisation of mine pit operations. These mission-critical platforms process vast amounts of real-time operational data, helping redefine mining through autonomous systems, robotics, AI and advanced data analytics.

What You'll Be Doing

• Design, develop and maintain high-quality Java backend software using modern engineering practices.
• Develop secure, scalable and resilient services supporting mission-critical mining applications.
• Deliver software within an Agile Scrum team aligned to the broader technical strategy.
• Participate in technical design, solution architecture, estimation and implementation.
• Produce clean, maintainable, well-tested code.
• Review code, mentor engineers and contribute to engineering best practices.
• Improve software quality, performance and maintainability.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues.
• Collaborate with architects, product managers, quality engineers and developers.
• Contribute to technical documentation and continuous improvement.

Highly regarded experience: Python, Edge-native development, Industrial IoT (IIoT), Geospatial technologies, Fleet Management Systems, GPS integration, Industrial Control Systems (ICS), SCADA systems and mission-critical, high-availability software platforms.
