The Opportunity The Human Development and Community Wellbeing team are currently looking for an enthusiastic and suitably qualified Research Assistant to join their team. In this position, you will have a key role in progressing the eSafety Commissioners Preventing Tech-Based Abuse of Women grant ‘Giving Voice to Rural and Regional Boys and Young Men and Supporting Parents to Prevent Tech-based Abuse of Girls and Young Women’. The role encompasses qualitative research methods, stakeholder engagement, and a commitment to producing actionable insights that can support parents, carers, young boys/men and inform policy and programs. The successful applicant may also work across other projects, as required. This position will involve managing stakeholder relationships, developing scientific protocols, research documents and methodological concepts; contributing to ethics applications; and conducting research with Investigators, collaborators and community partners. Of importance, this role will involve contact with minors as part of the stakeholder engagement process, and therefore requires holding, or be eligible to apply for, a Working with Children Card. Based at the Institute in Nedlands, this 0.6-1.0FTE opportunity will be appointed until 31 October 2027, with the potential to extend in the future. The key to your success will be your skills and experience in the following:
- Bachelor’s degree within Health Sciences, Psychology, Public Health, Social Sciences, Education, or related field.
- Hold a Working with Children (WWC) card or be eligible to apply.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting qualitative research.
- Experience working with a broad range of stakeholders.
- Experiencing managing a project, including ethics, governance, and reporting processes.
- Competent in conducting literature searches and reviews.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
