Lead Business Analyst
Job Description
Posted on: July 5, 2025
The People Plugin is proud to be partnering with PixelForce, an award-winning app development agency behind SWEAT (the world's #1 fitness app) and other multi-million dollar success stories based in Adelaide, to find an exceptional Lead Business Analyst.
This role sits at the intersection of business analysis and quality assurance — perfect for someone who thrives on translating complex business goals into crystal-clear documentation and then ensuring flawless delivery through robust testing practices.
You’ll work directly with PixelForce’s CEO and Engineering Manager, bridging strategy and execution across world-class mobile and web app projects. If you're detail-obsessed, love building systems that scale, and want to be part of a high-performance agency pushing global standards — we’d love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:Requirements Documentation & Analysis
- Own the creation of BRDs, PRDs, user stories, and acceptance criteria
- Translate business needs into clear, technical documentation for cross-functional teams
- Lead requirements gathering sessions with internal stakeholders and clients
- Ensure requirements traceability and minimise scope creep across all projects
- Ensure requirements align with commercial objectives and user experience goals
Quality Assurance & Testing
- Develop and execute detailed test plans and test cases
- Execute manual testing across mobile devices and web platforms to ensure market-ready quality
- Set up and maintain automated testing frameworks (e.g. Selenium, Cypress, Jest)
- Coordinate and document UAT processes and ensure defect resolution tracking
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Act as the bridge between Product Strategy, Engineering, and Insights teams
- Facilitate handovers, resolve requirement gaps, and ensure aligned delivery
- Continuously improve requirements and QA processes to support efficient project delivery
About You:
You’re the rare professional who sees the big picture whilst obsessing over the details. You understand that great apps aren't just well-coded - they're well-conceived businesses that work flawlessly for real users.
You're a sharp, process-driven professional who thrives on clarity, quality, and collaboration. Whether you're capturing complex business needs or leading thorough testing processes, you bring a thoughtful, structured approach that ensures nothing is missed and everything runs smoothly.
You’re equally comfortable in client conversations and technical deep dives — translating requirements, asking the right questions, and making sure each feature works as intended across every device. You think in systems, take ownership of your work, and have a knack for bridging gaps between design, engineering, and product teams. With a passion for continuous improvement, you’re always looking for ways to tighten processes, reduce ambiguity, and deliver better results — faster.
Skills & Experience:
- 5+ years' experience in business analysis and quality assurance roles
- Demonstrated ability to write clear, comprehensive technical documentation
- Expertise in manual testing methodologies and defect management
- Track record of reducing post-launch defects and improving development velocity through quality processes
- Proven experience with automated testing frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Jest, or similar)
- Experience with testing tools and project management platforms (e.g., JIRA, TestRail, or similar)
- Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and modern development practices
- Experience testing web and mobile applications across multiple platforms and devices
- Comfortable working in agile environments and cross-functional teams
- Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- A process improvement mindset with a passion for quality and clarity
- Experience in a digital agency or high-growth tech environment preferred
