About The Role
As Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for driving sales growth across Queensland, building on an established customer base and identifying new opportunities across the construction industry.
Working across the full project lifecycle, you will engage with customers from the early design and specification stage through to construction and project delivery, working closely with internal engineering and operations teams to support successful outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and grow new and existing customer relationships across Queensland.
- Identify project opportunities early in the design and construction process.
- Drive specification selling and position the business as a preferred supplier.
- Conduct customer meetings, presentations, site visits and project reviews.
- Develop new business opportunities and grow the Queensland market.
- Manage the sales pipeline, forecasts and revenue targets.
- Support tenders and commercial opportunities.
- Work closely with Engineering, Sales and Operations teams to coordinate project opportunities and handovers.
- Monitor projects through to delivery and support customers throughout the project lifecycle.
- Identify market trends, competitor activity and opportunities for growth.
- Represent the business at industry events, conferences and customer presentations.
- Maintain accurate customer, project and sales information through CRM.
You are a commercially minded sales professional who enjoys working with technical solutions and building relationships across the construction industry. You are comfortable having conversations with engineers and other technical stakeholders, while also being able to identify commercial opportunities and drive them through to sale.
An existing network across the Queensland construction market will also be advantageous.
You will bring:
- Minimum 5 years of proven experience in business development, technical sales, or project sales within the construction industry, preferably in the concrete or structural construction sector.
- Experience across structural steel, precast concrete, reinforced concrete, construction products or engineered building solutions will be highly regarded.
- Proven experience developing and maintaining strong customer relationships.
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
- The ability to read and interpret construction engineering drawings and specifications.
- Strong presentation, communication and relationship-building skills.
- Experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
- A current Australian Driver's Licence.
