About The Role My client is a large, ASX listed group with a footprint across Australia. A rare opportunity has arisen for an experienced Group Financial Reporting Manager to join their finance team and play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity and compliance of the Group’s financial reporting. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will oversee consolidated financial reporting, maintaining GL integrity, preparing statutory financial statements and providing technical accounting guidance in line with IFRS. You will partner with senior leaders across the business, providing meaningful financial insights and supporting informed decision-making through accurate reporting, analysis and commercial advice. Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting & Insights
- Lead the preparation and delivery of consolidated management reports across the Group.
- Prepare and present Monthly Board Reports and key performance metrics to provide commercial insights.
- Take ownership of the preparation of half-year and annual statutory financial statements.
- Analyse financial data and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.
Financial Management & Compliance
- Develop, maintain and communicate the Group’s accounting policies and provide guidance on complex accounting matters.
- Advise the business on the application of accounting standards, interpretations and emerging IFRS requirements.
- Lead the assessment and implementation of new accounting standards and reporting requirements.
- Support the preparation of budgets, cash flow forecasts, covenant reporting, tax reporting and other financial requirements.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the Financial Reporting function.
- Maintain balance sheet integrity and ensure strong financial controls are embedded across the business.
Audit & Stakeholder Management
- Manage day-to-day relationships with internal and external auditors throughout audit cycles.
- Prepare technical accounting position papers and support the preparation of Audit Committee materials.
- Work closely with the Financial Controller on key projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
Technical Accounting & Projects
- Maintain and update the Group’s impairment testing model and support recommendations regarding impairment assessments.
- Prepare accounting position papers and provide technical accounting support as required.
- Participate in projects, process improvements and initiatives that enhance business performance.
About You You are a technically strong finance professional with a passion for accurate reporting, continuous improvement and providing meaningful commercial insights. You will bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Finance/Commerce/Accounting or Business
- CA or CPA qualified
- 5-7 years of experience working in a similar role
- Group reporting experience including consolidation in a large, complex company – ideally listed
- Ability to lead a team and comfort in being a ‘hands on’ technical accounting and reporting manager
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and technical accounting requirements with experience in preparing statutory accounts and managing audit processes
- Big4 or Upper Mid Tier Accounting firm experience is highly valuable
- Ability to work a minimum of 2 days per week in the Gold Coast office
