Troocoo is partnering with a leading consumer technology and entertainment business to appoint a Senior QA Engineer who will take ownership of quality across product delivery.
About the role
This is a senior, hands-on position for a quality specialist who combines deep testing craft with sound judgment. You’ll set the quality standard within your pod, applying direct testing effort to high-risk areas such as financial transactions and complex system behaviour, while guiding how engineers and AI agents validate the rest.
Working as the primary QA alongside iOS, Android and backend engineers, you’ll be part of a modern delivery environment where AI is embedded in day-to-day workflows.
Key responsibilities
- Challenge requirements and acceptance criteria early, ensuring they are clear, testable and complete before build begins
- Lead exploratory and risk-focused testing that uncovers issues automation and AI tools can miss
- Evaluate the verification performed by engineers and AI agents, and define what “done and verified” means for your team
- Shape a risk-based test strategy across unit, integration, API and end-to-end layers, including performance and security considerations
- Build and refine API, contract and native mobile automation that delivers fast, reliable feedback through CI/CD
- Apply AI to improve test creation and maintenance, while critically assessing the quality of its output
- Coach engineers, product managers and designers on quality practice, and mentor junior QA team members
About you
- Solid grounding in test strategy, risk-based testing and test design
- Proven experience testing backend systems, APIs and integrations in distributed environments
- Hands-on automation experience across API and native or front-end layers (Playwright is an example, not a requirement)
- A concrete example of an AI-enabled improvement that measurably lifted QA efficiency
- Sound judgment when working with AI output, including a time you identified an issue that appeared correct but wasn’t
- Excellent communication, with the confidence to influence stakeholders and challenge assumptions constructively
