About The Role The Basic Oxygen Steelmaking (BOS) Department, takes molten iron from the Blast Furnace and converts it to steel. This is later transformed into hot rolled coil and Australian building products. The BOS Asset Team is responsible for the successful application of asset management strategies, and delivery of maintenance activities in a safe and efficient manner.

The Port Kembla Steelworks has achieved Responsible Steel certification, which recognises the sustainability of the operations across several indicators, including social, environmental and governance. What You Will Need

• Australian Recognised Trade Qualification
• Recent work experience as a Boilermaker
• Strong commitment to safe work practices
• Working at Heights and Confined Space (desirable but not essential)

For more than 20 years, Ventia has had a longstanding relationship with BlueScope in the Illawarra region of New South Wales, providing plant maintenance, engineering and project services and a skilled workforce for numerous BlueScope projects, as well as fabrication facilities. We have recently renewed our contract with BlueScope for maintenance services with the addition of fire services at BlueScope’s Port Kembla Steel Works.
