Volunteer Programs Manager (Job Share) – WA Wildlife

Location: Bibra Lake, Western Australia | Wildlife Hospital and Conservation Organisation

Hours: Job share (part-time) | Flexible work hours | Applications close 6 June 2025

WA Wildlife is seeking a highly organised and people-focused Volunteer Programs Manager to lead and support the organisation’s large and dedicated volunteer team. This is a job-share role ideal for someone passionate about community engagement, wildlife conservation and volunteer development.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate all aspects of volunteer engagement, from recruitment and onboarding to rostering and recognition
  • Oversee performance, compliance and communication for over 200 active volunteers across rehabilitation, hospital, education and fundraising teams
  • Deliver and monitor training, including induction, e-learning and ongoing competency checks
  • Manage and improve volunteer rostering and scheduling systems via the volunteer app
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive volunteer culture, resolving concerns constructively
  • Liaise with managers to align volunteer support with organisational needs and WHS standards

About you

  • Experience in coordinating, supervising and supporting volunteers or employees
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including confidence with digital platforms
  • Strong organisational and time management capabilities
  • Experience in developing and delivering training
  • Knowledge of volunteer rights, safety obligations and compliance standards
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced and mission-driven environment

Desirable

  • Qualifications in volunteer management, human resources or training and assessment
  • Experience in the wildlife, environmental or not-for-profit sector
