Role Description The Medical Receptionist role is a part-time, on-site position based in Claremont, WA. Day-to-day responsibilities include greeting patients, managing check-in and check-out procedures, scheduling theatre list and confirming appointments, and answering phone calls in a professional and courteous manner. The role also involves maintaining patient records, verifying referral and basic documentation, coordinating with clinical staff, and ensuring the reception area is organized and welcoming. The Medical Receptionist will handle general administrative tasks such as managing incoming correspondence, processing payments, and supporting smooth patient flow through the practice.
Qualifications
- Strong Appointment Scheduling skills with experience managing calendars in a Medical Office setting.
- Professional Phone Etiquette and Receptionist Duties, including greeting patients and managing front desk operations.
- Working knowledge of Medical Terminology to communicate accurately with patients and clinical staff.
- Previous experience in a medical or allied health office environment, preferably in a specialist practice.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills, with a patient-centered approach.
- Competence in basic computer systems and practice management software; accurate data entry and record keeping.
- High level of attention to detail, reliability, and ability to prioritize tasks in a busy clinical setting.
- Relevant certificate or training in medical administration or health services is advantageous.
