Role Description The Business Development Manager is a full-time, on-site role based at either Kurri Kurri or Parramatta, NSW.

This role is responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities across key sectors, nurturing relationships with existing and prospective clients, and expanding the company’s market presence. Day-to-day tasks include researching and qualifying leads, preparing and delivering proposals and presentations, negotiating commercial terms, and collaborating with internal teams to tailor solutions to client needs.

The Business Development Manager will monitor industry trends, contribute to sales forecasts and pipeline reporting, and participate in strategic planning to support sustainable growth. Regular site visits, industry events, and stakeholder meetings will be required to build strong networks and maintain a deep understanding of client operations.

Qualifications

  • Strong business development and sales skills, including lead generation, opportunity qualification, and negotiation.
  • Experience building and maintaining client relationships within industrial sectors such as mining, construction, rail, or manufacturing.
  • Ability to conduct market and competitor research and translate findings into actionable growth strategies.
  • Commercial acumen, including experience preparing proposals, bids, and pricing models aligned with company objectives.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborative working style, with experience coordinating with operations, engineering, and project teams to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite, with strong organizational and reporting capabilities.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and ethical business practices.
  • Previous experience in a similar role within a diversified industrial or project-based environment is highly regarded.
