Would suit a candidate coming from a head contracting background with strong stakeholder management skills as well as people from the client side.
Known as one of the leading local firms in the delivery of projects, this is a great opportunity to join a forward thinking, professional, dynamic and hands on project management consultancy. They are looking for a strong Assistant Project Manager or an entry level Project Manager type.
A high degree of client and stakeholder liaison will be involved, from feasibility stage to delivery stage of the project. Leadership, communication and people management skillset will be paramount along with a strong base of technical knowledge and superintendent ability as well as administering a head contract.
Projects in their portfolio include residential, commercial, government, subdivisions etc. and cover new build, refurb and fit-out and some civil subdivisions projects from smaller through to $100m+
Candidates can come from a client-side consultancy or main contractor background, having strong superintendent and contract management is ideal.
Having some head contractor experience prior would be desirable, will be a hands-on role not a post box PM.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Client management and consultation
- Project Planning/Feasibility studies
- Risk Management
- Value Engineering
- Design Management
- Procurement of construction services
- Construction Delivery and superintendent duties
- Quality Management
- Contract management, cost control and cost reporting
- Commissioning and post contract duties for handover
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or similar
- Ideally 2 to 5+ years of end to end project management on building projects
- Experience working with a Main Contractor will be highly desirable
- Design Management & Contract Management experience ideal
- Experience in Business Development or a strong network would be an advantage
- Leadership skills
- Strategic thinker who is able to see the bigger picture
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Previous client side project management experience
