Ankura is a team of excellence founded on innovation and growth. This position supports the Ankura Disputes and Economics practice - one of six practices focused on client delivery services across the Firm. Ankura is one of the fastest growing consulting firms in the world and recently voted best firms to work for in 2025. We’re looking for the right person to join our growing Disputes & Economics practise, which focuses on assisting clients with financial, accounting and economic issues in litigation and other disputes. We provide expert evidence services, consulting advice and advocacy services to solicitors, barristers and corporate clients, alongside a team of world-recognised experts within an established leading global consultancy. Our Australian D&E practice launched in 2023 but is led by some of the most experienced practitioners in the market, having most recently led the disputes practice of one of the Big-4 Accounting Firms. This role is based in our Melbourne office. Why Join Ankura

  • You'll have the opportunity to make meaningful contributions to our work on some of Australia's biggest litigation from day one.
  • You'll be working directly with our market leading experts in an established leading global consultancy. Our working style is very collaborative, meaning you'll be able to inspire, inform, debate and yes, even challenge our leaders on a daily basis.
  • Our Australian Disputes and Economics team is highly innovative, and we use AI, automation and programming as part of how we deliver almost every engagement
  • Our local leaders have a proven track record of developing interested team members into well-respected expert witnesses. If you think you might want to be an expert witness one day, there's no better place to do just that
  • Both the team and firm are in an exciting phase of growth in the Australian market, which is ideal for candidates looking to make their mark. The established global firm provides the gravitas, structured learning and career development you'll likely be used to from other professional service firms, but our stage of growth gives you a unique opportunity to shape the way we work and the future of our team.

Responsibilities In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Prepare damages assessments, valuations, analyse technical accounting issues, prepare economic analyses and conduct financial investigations.
  • Prepare complex financial models in Microsoft Excel, including DCF analyses.
  • Draft high-quality experts’ reports and other deliverables.
  • Work directly with some of Australia’s best litigators and expert witnesses.
  • Develop relationships, both internally and externally.
  • Start the journey toward potentially becoming an expert witness yourself.

Requirements We’re looking for someone who:

  • Is a newly promoted Manager, an Assistant Manager/Supervisor, or a very experienced Senior Consultant/Senior Analyst at a well-regarded professional services firm, preferably in a forensic or disputes practice. You might also be the right fit if you currently work in valuations, or transaction services, or have taken time out from professional services to try a corporate role and are now looking to return.
  • Has completed their post-graduate qualification (CA preferred) or is on track to do so in the next 12 months.
  • Has strong analytical skills with experience in building financial models.
  • Has a flexible approach to problem-solving, capable of identifying and applying legal and financial principles across a range of contexts, and can critical thinking and good judgement.
  • Has strong report writing and communication skills, including an ability to communicate clearly, crisply and concisely in a manner tailored for the audience.
  • Can work autonomously and is able to effectively manage competing priorities and multiple stakeholders.
