Assister are seeking a dedicated and empathetic English-speaking Aged Care Worker to provide high-quality, person-centred support to our clients in their own homes. This is a rewarding opportunity to promote independence, wellbeing, and community participation for those who need it most.
Position: Aged Care Worker
Location: In-home and community support
Reports to: Care Coordinator / Case Manager
Employment Type: Full-time
Salary: $77,000 - $85,000 per annum (for a 38-hour week, based on experience)
About the Role:
As an Aged Care Worker, you will be the heart of our service, delivering compassionate care and practical support that allows our clients to live safely and comfortably in their own homes. You will be responsible for implementing individual care plans with a focus on dignity, respect, and building meaningful connections.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Personal Care: Assist clients with daily tasks such as showering, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene.
- Mobility Assistance: Support clients with mobility, including transferring, walking, and the safe use of mobility aids.
- Domestic Support: Provide light household duties including cleaning, laundry, vacuuming, and tidying.
- Meal Preparation: Plan and prepare nutritious meals and snacks tailored to clients' dietary needs.
- Companionship: Offer genuine friendship, emotional support, and conversation to enhance wellbeing and reduce social isolation.
- Community Access: Accompany clients on outings, shopping trips, errands, and appointments.
- Medication Support: Remind clients to take their medications as prescribed.
- Client Monitoring: Observe and report any changes in a client’s health or behaviour to the Care Manager.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely care records and progress notes.
What You Bring (Skills & Qualifications):
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing or Disability) or a relevant qualification. Relevant experience will also be considered.
- A current First Aid and CPR certificate.
- A valid driver's license and reliable transport.
- A satisfactory National Police Check and Working with Children Check (or state equivalent).
