The Opportunity

We’re seeking an experienced and motivated Construction Estimator to join our growing pre-construction team. You will be an integral part of our design and delivery process — preparing detailed cost plans, managing subcontractor engagement, and supporting our projects from early feasibility through to contract award.

Reporting direct to the Preconstruction Manager and working closely with the Managing Director, this is an exciting opportunity for a driven estimator who thrives on collaboration, values design excellence, and wants to contribute meaningfully to a range of high-quality projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate estimates, cost plans, and trade break-ups across all stages of design and delivery.

• Conduct quantity take-offs and ensure alignment between design documentation and scope.

• Manage subcontractor and supplier pricing, ensuring competitive coverage and accuracy.

• Coordinate and review tender documentation, identify risks, and support value-engineering opportunities.

• Prepare tender submissions, bid documentation, and cost reports for management review.

• Support programme development and cost sequencing in Microsoft Project.

• Collaborate closely with designers, project managers, and construction teams to ensure estimates reflect true buildability and intent.

• Continuously refine estimating systems, templates, and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.

Skills & Experience

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in construction estimating (commercial and/or high-end residential).

• Strong understanding of Design & Construct and negotiated tender environments.

• Proven Experience in take-offs, subcontractor management, and bid coordination.

• Sound knowledge of construction methodologies, trade pricing, and procurement.

• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders

• Highly organised with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and CostX or similar estimating softwares.

• Experience and Proficiency in Microsoft Project

• Experience in Procore or similar Project Management Systems.

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Finance or similar will be received favourably.
