You will advise on high-profile current affairs content, ground-breaking investigations, flagship entertainment programs, daily breaking news and comedy. We are looking for an enthusiastic and talented lawyer who will:
- Thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Provide quick, decisive advice on media law risks such as defamation and contempt prior to publication
- Develop and deliver media law training to content makers
- Be a strong team player
- Display initiative and leadership qualities
- Subject to experience and business needs, conduct media law litigation or draft content agreements and advise on intellectual property matters
You are an admitted solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales (or equivalent) with a minimum of 2-3 years’ post-admission experience that includes media law. We welcome applications from lawyers with a range of experience levels, including capable junior lawyers and practitioners at mid-level stage in their careers. Depending on your level of experience, you may have developed expertise in providing pre-publication advice or conducting media law litigation. You Will Also Be
- Organised, with the ability to manage your own practice and workflows or to contribute effectively within a supervised practice structure
- Focused on providing pragmatic, timely, and decisive advice
- Able to exercise sound judgment on complex issues either with or without supervision, depending on experience
- Able to influence and effectively communicate with people at all levels
- Subject to experience, available to provide prepublication advice after ordinary business hours on a rostered basis
