About The OPPORTUNITY

We are currently looking for a Contracts Specialist to join our Hunter Class Frigate Program, reporting to the Senior Contracts Manager.

You will provide commercial support across the Supply Chain function, helping to manage risk, negotiate subcontracts and agreements and deliver value to support successful program outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide commercial advice and contract management support across supplier and subcontractor agreements, including mandatory flow-downs.
  • Lead and support contract negotiations, execution, variations and change management activities.
  • Draft, review and update contracts manage contract change and prepare other commercial documentation.
  • Manage commercial risks, issues and opportunities throughout the contract lifecycle.
  • Partner with Supply Chain, Program and Operational stakeholders to achieve commercial and business objectives.
  • Support supplier engagement, evaluations and sourcing activities from a commercial perspective.
  • Contribute to contract reviews, governance activities and commercial reporting.
  • Deliver value-for-money outcomes while ensuring contractual compliance and commercial outcomes.

About YOU

  • Australian Citizen, eligible to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance (mandatory).
  • Degree qualified in Business, Commerce, Law, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in contract management and commercial negotiations.
  • Strong communication skills, initiative and a proactive, curious mindset.
  • Proven ability to build collaborative relationships and influence internal and external stakeholders (essential).
  • Strong commercial acumen with a sound understanding of how commercial functions drive business outcomes.
  • Defence industry experience is highly regarded.
  • Completion of Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) is advantageous but not essential.
