Beach Energy is seeking a highly capable and detail-oriented Contracts & Procurement Specialist to play a key role in ensuring procurement and contracting activities across the business are compliant, transparent, and well-controlled. Sitting within our Finance & Corporate Services division, this role provides governance oversight and advisory support across all Contracts & Procurement (C&P) activities, helping to embed consistent processes, strengthen assurance outcomes, and support the delivery of timely and cost-efficient business results About The Role Reporting to the Contracts & Procurement Governance Lead, this role is a central point of engagement for governance across procurement and contracting activities at Beach. Key Responsibilities Include
- Acting as a strategic point of contact for the assigned division, region, asset or project, ensuring stakeholder management is consistent, compliant and aligned with C&P governance expectations.
- Supporting the application of procurement assurance frameworks, assurance processes and compliance controls.
- Supporting governance related projects including ESG requirements such as modern slavery, sustainability and social procurement.
- Monitoring adherence to mandatory controls and proactively identify and escalate non-compliance.
- Promoting probity, transparency and ethical procurement practices across the organisation.
- Partnering with cross-functional teams (Legal, Finance, HSE, Risk, Logistics and others) to ensure governance inputs are embedded in procurement activities.
- Providing coaching and guidance to stakeholders on governance obligations, assurance pathways, and documentation standards.
- Promoting a strong governance culture focused on compliance, accountability and continuous improvement.
- Supporting internal and external audits, including evidence collation, reporting, and remediation activities.
- Identifying governance and compliance risks early and drive corrective actions.
- Ensuring procurement processes are transparent, fair, auditable, and consistently applied.
About You We are looking for someone who brings strong governance expertise, commercial acumen, and the ability to influence stakeholders in a complex and dynamic environment. You Will Thrive In This Role If You Have
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Management, Engineering or similar.
- Experience in procurement and contracting, ideally within oil and gas or heavy industry.
- Experience across the full procurement lifecycle within project or large-scale operational environments.
- Strong understanding of governance frameworks, assurance processes, and compliance controls.
- An analytical mindset with strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Knowledge of contract structures, including legal and commercial components.
- Experience with COUPA or other similar SAAS product, Sharepoint and related tools.
- High attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and managing risk.
