Structural Engineer

We partner with clients and stakeholders to challenge the status quo, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in engineering.   Our Building Team The BG&E Building Team provides comprehensive design services to a range of sectors from commercial, education, healthcare, and residential. Our offering is underpinned through the utilisation of BG&E’s extensive local knowledge, leveraging off our diverse proficiency in concrete, structural steel, masonry, and timber structures. Working with us provides you with variety. We work alongside a diverse range of clients, from private asset owners, contractors, and state government agencies. The Role As part of our Brisbane design team, you will be working in collaboration with principal and senior level engineers and be responsible for delivering solutions across a wide variety of engineering projects. Primarily technical in nature, the role will include some project management and business development functions as required as well as providing opportunities to progress your career within the business over time. Key Accountabilities

• Preparation of detailed calculations for a variety of building structural systems and elements
• Operation of analytical models and contributing to running complex models
• Preparation of sketches and technical reports
• Review of structural documentation
• Co-ordination of designs with other project team consultants
• Participation in internal design team meetings and in external meetings with the client and other consultants
• Visits to construction and project sites to perform site inspections and to provide observation reports and supporting engineering advice
• Support and manage elements of projects; and
• Support in the identification of opportunities for follow on work and contribute to bids and proposal development.

About You

• Relevant engineering qualifications and be a Chartered Engineer or happy to start working towards chartership
• At least 4 years of experience in building design and engineering practices
• Client liaison experience; and
• Capability to perform planning, concept and detailed design.

Salary: $90,000 to $110,000 (dependent upon experience)
