The Bureau's?National?Security and?Space Program provides meteorological, environmental and oceanographic support to customers integral to Australia's national security, economic prosperity and community safety through Government partners and key industry sectors to ensure they have the right information at the right time, to deliver on their goals. The Bluelink project is a multi-decadal collaboration between the Bureau of Meteorology, CSIRO and Department of Defence which aims to ensure Defence can access world-leading ocean forecast systems. This longstanding award-winning project has complex project and governance arrangements to manage costs, expectations and services between the stakeholders. The Bluelink Governance Lead will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure that the governance arrangements around the project support delivery outcomes. The role requires a self-motivated and resilient person who can maintain an understanding of Defence needs and planning processes at all levels and align those needs to Bureau capabilities. The preferred applicant will be an individual who enjoys exploring what is possible, is energised by new opportunities, and has an aptitude for communicating scientific and data model knowledge. Technical knowledge of a physical science related to Bureau services is desirable but not essential. The position is focused on coordination, influence and governance. The position will be in the Bureau's Canberra Office in Parkes but might be performed from other locations. Some interstate travel may be required to engage with other Defence stakeholders and Bureau staff.
