Are you a social media manager who knows exactly why that Reel stopped your scroll? Who can tell a good hook from a great one and already has three ideas to make it better? At Chain Social, we know what stops the scroll because we’re the ones scrolling… and we have a feeling you are too.
SO, WHO ARE CHAIN?
We’re so glad you asked. Chain Social is a digital and creative agency located on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria. We service some of Australia’s biggest brands across beauty, fashion and lifestyle, such as MECCA, Millie Savage, NALA, Your Reformer, Funday Sweets and more. We’re proud of who we are and the work we do for our clients; our brand identity is sacred, and we’ve spent the last 10 years building it with a team of tenacious and passionate people at the helm.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Group Social Media Manager owns the social presence of the Chain Group of brands: Chain Social, Chain Academy, Haus of Chain and Chain Pod. You'll turn social strategy into well-planned, well-executed channel activity that grows our audience, sparks conversation and keeps Chain at the forefront of the marketing industry.
Working closely with the Chief Brand Officer/Founder, you'll lead the overarching social media strategy, content direction and publishing calendar across the Chain Group of brands. This is a strategy-led role, focused on turning commercial priorities, brand objectives and creative ideas into a consistent, high-performing social presence.
You'll be responsible for developing content concepts, building strategic calendars and briefing our in-house Brand & Creative Designer and Content Producer, who will bring the creative work to life. From there, you'll oversee the content pipeline from briefing through to final approval, scheduling and publishing, ensuring every piece of content is delivered on time, on brand and optimised for its platform.
This is not a primary content production role. Your focus is on strategy, creative direction, coordination, publishing and performance, supported by a dedicated creative team. We're looking for someone proactive, creative and data-literate who thinks in hooks, obsesses over retention and has an eye for chic yet engaging content that makes people stop scrolling.
Key Areas of responsibility include
- Social Strategy & Content Planning
- Content Strategy, Calendars and Creative Briefing
- Channel Management and Publishing
- Community and Trends
- Performance & Insights
This is a flexible part-time position - 24 hours per week that can be structured to suit the successful candidate. Whether you prefer three full working days or shorter hours across four to five days, we're open to finding an arrangement that works for you and the business.
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
Right now the Chain Group publishes 10 to 14 pieces of content a week across our business arms. In 2027 we're aiming for 62, built from strong ideas that are smartly repurposed across channels rather than 62 things made from scratch. That means daily posting on our key channels, content scheduled at least a week ahead and briefs out to the creative team two weeks in advance - no last-minute scrambles!
The goal? Tripling our organic reach. Success looks like engagement and followers growing month on month, comments and DMs answered promptly and a monthly performance report that helps us decide what to make more of. The end goal is simple, we become our own case study.
ABOUT YOU
You think in hooks and obsess over retention. You spot a trend early and know straight away whether it's right for a creative agency, a recruitment brand or a podcast. You have an eye for chic yet engaging content and the data literacy to prove it's working.
You bring 4+ years in social media management, ideally in an agency or multi-brand environment, with a track record of growing audiences on Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn plus a working knowledge of YouTube and Pinterest. You can write captions that flex across different brands and services, and you brief like a pro.
From a systems perspective, you're confident in platform analytics and scheduling tools like Meta Business Suite, Later or Sprout Social. You're handy in Canva and CapCut, and organised enough to juggle multiple brands and calendars without anything slipping.
LIFE AT CHAIN
We may be biased, but we hand on heart believe we’re one of the best workplaces in Australia, and the 2024 Culture 100 Award agrees. Being part of our tight-knit Chain Social team means you’ll enjoy a culture-first attitude that’s at the heart of everything we do, and highly valued by our Founder & CEO.
We have just moved into our chic new Chain HQ in Mornington, complete with a wellness centre and sauna (yes, really), with plans to open another office on the Gold Coast in 2027. Think client WIPs at 4 pm, toes in the sand by 5 pm (say less!).
In addition to working out of what might be the chicest office in Australia, here is what else we can offer you:
- Flexible work hours because we know the juggle is real.Hybrid working environment (3 days in office, 2 from home)
- A nurturing environment where pop culture is always encouraged
- A coastal office location in Mornington (and soon to be QLD), so you can clock off and head to the beach for a swim, walk (or a drink, depending on your day)
- We’ve recently started a Christmas season tradition of a team event. Last year was a girls trip to Byron Bay, a superyacht on the Sydney Harbour; the year prior? Jackalope Hotel takeover and flying in Peking Duk to perform…. because we work hard and relax harder.
- Ongoing fun monthly team events so we can get to know each other.
