About The Role CFA's suite of Specialist Capability Plans set the strategic direction for developing and sustaining specialist response capabilities over the next decade, ensuring we are well prepared for the challenges of today and tomorrow. As the Project Lead – Specialist Capability Planning and Delivery, you will play a key role in shaping the future of our specialist emergency response capabilities. You will help ensure CFA's specialist rescue disciplines continue to evolve to meet the changing needs of our communities, through the delivery of priority projects as well as reporting and assurance processes. Through effective governance, reporting and assurance, you will help drive informed decision-making and deliver meaningful outcomes for volunteers, emergency responders and the wider community. This position offers options for flexible work locations for the successful candidate. About You You are a dynamic and collaborative project professional who enjoys turning plans into action and working with diverse stakeholders to deliver meaningful outcomes. With an inquisitive approach you thrive in complex environments, balancing competing priorities while maintaining a detailed focus on quality, governance and continuous improvement. Ideally you will bring:

  • Experience within government or the emergency management sector.
  • Experience leading or coordinating projects from planning through to implementation, monitoring and reporting within a large or complex organisation.
  • Strong knowledge of project governance, assurance and risk management principles, with the ability to apply them effectively to achieve successful project outcomes.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships, influence decisions and work collaboratively across all levels of an organisation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare high-quality reports, business cases, briefing papers and other strategic documentation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with experience interpreting information, identifying trends and providing evidence-based recommendations.
  • Experience contributing to strategic planning activities, including the development, review and implementation of organisational plans, policies or frameworks.
  • Qualifications in business management, business analysis, emergency management or a related discipline will be highly regarded.

A full driver's licence is required for regional travel at times. A CFA pool car is available for this purpose. Why choose CFA
